Kayaking and Yoga
Here’s one for your summer calendar: Silva Bay Kayak Adventures offers Kayaking and Yoga every Monday morning throughout the summer, starting on June 22nd. Each session is 3 hours long, and the drop-in fee is 20.00. Beginners are welcome. No experience is necessary, as trained and certified kayaking guides provide paddling lessons.
Silva Bay Kayak Adventures is offering a local’s rate for a weekly combination of paddling and yoga practices. Come and enjoy the summer by logging time on our home waters. Paddling is one of the best ways to enjoy our shorelines and spectacular beaches at the south end of Gabriola. The smooth sandstone rocks and oyster shell beaches, make for a natural open-air yoga studio. This is where the low-key practice will balance out the physical aspect of kayaking. What a great way to enjoy our island in the prime summer weather; by being active both on the water and on the beaches. These complimentary moving meditations will stimulate your senses through a diversity of interactions with nature, both aquatic and terrestrial. Each weekly session will be in a different location, with a mix of local yoga instructors throughout the summer.
These events are run on a drop-in basis. Interested? Meet at the Silva Bay INN by 8:45 am, ready to paddle. More information:

Discount: Discount card for locals: 7 sessions is only $100, AND your eighth is free!
What to bring: sunscreen and appropriate gear for the weather, yoga mat and drinking water.
